Not to my suprise but, I have just Googled 'web design in Bath', Get this, I at first thought I was keyword stuffing the Maggs homepage with 4 accounts of the word 'Bath'. I would like to add one of which is in the address and one that is default in the menu..
After trawling through some other web design companies in the 'AREA', I found at least two web design sites with over 20 references to bath on a single page, that’s like a Google amount of references! (I did not consider counting the titles and meta descriptions, I was afraid i would need a calculator).
So from now on I am not going to mention the word B**h again.
Some of the sites that are what I like to call in priority positions i.e. the first page of Google, if you were to read through their main page and took out all the B**h's the page actually makes no sense at all..I wonder how they get away with it.
Even worse, the client was to deduct the B^%h from their own website and read it through... I mean come on web designers!
When we meet a client, we advise them on what they could do and what they should do when creating a web page, especially when the client is about to embark on their own content writing.
We have just been working with a client who is in the construction industry. We have set up their Blog for them and have given them around 20 blog pages to give them direction of how their blog could be written. My instructions were pretty clear, just tell the public about your business and forget SEO that will come naturally. I have found with a few of clients most of which are first page of Google, that good written content will always beat keyword stuffed pages, as long as the fundamentals are within the page.
I will always back pat a web designer if they produce a good site, and I will always flick through the whole site to see what’s the competitive edge they have over their competition, the web game is always fluid and moves from month to month...
What I really dislike is when a page is numero uno, simply because its keyword stuffed... I know all the main search engines...I mean Google... is really pushing its algorithms to change this, of which Maggs for one welcomes this with open arms!
..For those of you who read my previous post, I have broke the rules...:) just for an hour!
